The Nemeton of the Five Shaman Circles: About The Gay Jungian-Shamanic
Groups | Approaches
in the Life of The Circles Books and Materials | Links | Link Exchange A Statement from Rodney G. Karr, Ph.D.These groups are grounded in my experience of 28 years as a psychotherapist; 25 years of spiritual study in Hinduism, Buddhism, Western Mysteries, and Native American tradition; and 10 years of study as a Druid, especially with the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, which is based in the United Kingdom. My druid/shamanic training is a process and a grounding, not a religion. I am a licensed psychologist; however, I am not practicing as a psychologist in these groups, but rather as a licensed minister of the Western Mysteries tradition. We encourage you to take responsibility for your own spiritual development, practice, and healing. The central purpose of these groups is to recognize the oneness of all beings. We seek to help each member rediscover the interconnecting web of Lifeto connect to himself, his community, nature, and the cosmos. Our work flows from earth-based traditions, but it is not limited to one approach. This introductory level group will focus on the spiritual needs of the participants in different areas, such as healing of anger and trauma around religious issues, self-esteem, success, sexuality, relationships, co-dependency, addiction, aging, HIV, and loss. We work in re-awakening a participatory, holistic spirituality within each person; the member becomes a vital part of their own spirituality and not just being a mere spectator of it.
